As part of our continuing development Haden Hill Swimming Club is seeking a Level 2 coach for our successful Junior Swimming team
The continued growth of the club means that we are seeking a further coaches to lead our programme. This is an opportunity for a coach to lead the programming and coaching within our existing Junior squad. The strength of these squads is important in the future success of the club and the delivery of a high quality coaching programme is a key part of that.
The Junior squads cover the age range between 8 to 14 years and many reach county and regional level. The coach will strive to achieve more swimmers to gain qualifying times to these competitions.
We expect the poolside coaching commitment of this role with additional preparation and administration.
The coach will work with the competitive and development coaches and alongside our teachers in the Learn to Swim programme in the delivery of the training programme. This will be a great opportunity to develop your coaching skills as part of a high performing team in a nationally recognised leading swimming club.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum Level 2 coaching qualification and experience of working with swimmers junior swimmers.
You will need to demonstrate a strong ability to coach the age groups and clearly show their dedication to the sport and swimmers. The role will require you to be driven and knowledgeable, with a good understanding of motivating swimmers. You should have good communication skills and be comfortable communicating with swimmers, coaches, parents and all members of the club.
You will need to have a good understanding of long term athlete development and actively demonstrate the willingness to learn and further develop yourself. You will be prepared to learn and embrace new coaching techniques and technologies to deliver a good learning experience for all your swimmers.
You should understand and have a sound knowledge of the essential skills and behaviours that swimmers should develop within the junior programme in order to reach their full potential. You will be keen to support those skills by the provision of quality learning and competitive opportunities.
You will need to be a team player who is motivated by the success of both your own swimmers and those within the club.

The applicant teacher must be a holder of an ASA Level 2 Teaching/ Level 2/3 Coaching Certificate
The applicant must be a member of the IOS
The applicant must be licensed or working towards a Level 2/3 licence
The applicant must be computer literate

The club is run by volunteers. There are always plenty of jobs and tasks required whether it be updating the website, news, Swim 21 etc. If you would like to help out we are currently looking for:

Have an awareness of swimming awards and competitive opportunities.
Be the first point of contact for members and external agencies.
Act as a source of reference on all matters pertaining to the club and develop appropriate reference material to this end.
Take responsibility for the use of all notices for management, special and annual general meeting
Distribute minutes within 10 working days of the last meeting.
Advise the chair persons of matters requiring urgent attention.
Communicate with the members so that they are aware of the actions of the committee.
With the help of the Chair take steps to fill any vacancies.
Represent, or take steps to ensure that the club is represented at key meetings.
